Cherie Lynn and Ty are married

A few weekends ago I had the chance to second shoot a fabulous Cape May, NJ wedding for Michael Leslie. It was a gorgeous day and the weather was perfect for a summer wedding down the shore.

The craziest thing happened that day too. While we were on the beach taking Cherie and Ty’s formal photos we saw a couple get engaged in the distance. Since we were all watching, the whole bridal party started cheering when we realized that she said Yes. I ran over to get a quick shot of the newly engaged couple. Congrats Jessica and Brent!

Family and Cape May, NJ

My aunt and uncle from upstate NY rented a house in Cape May, NJ for a week, and although Austin and I were only able to stay one night it was nice to hang with the family. As soon as they were unpacked the enterainment began. We played a game called “Kan Jam” where your partner throws the frisbee and your job is to knock it into the can. I was definitely much better at throwing the frisbee (when I didn’t throw it into a tree) then I was at knocking it into the can. Apparently my cousins (both college students) are professional Kan Jam players so we had no chance from the start.

When Kan Jam got serious my uncle broke out his “war gear”
I love this picture of my aunt.. She has no idea I took it

When things winded down Austin and I headed over to the beach
Cape May had “just a few” jellyfish on the beach

Super Jellyfish
My mom took this one of us

The night winded down with an intense competition of Wii Mario Kart

An unexpected visitor

We arrived home late tonight after running some errands and while I was out in the front yard trying to get Lola to come back after she had been chasing the neighborhood rabbits, Austin decided to go out back and turn off the pool filter. Of course we didn’t leave any lights on so it was completely dark when he went back there. All the sudden something by the pool jumped towards him and scared him. Apparently Kermit was taking a swim in our pool. This is the second time we have had a bullfrog in the pool this summer. I always name all the animals that wander into our yard.. 2 weeks ago we found Minnie Mouse swimming in the pool… at least frogs know how to swim. We set Minnie free, but I think we are going to let Kermit hang out for a while.

No Rainbow..but some fun

So, we had a good full day of summer showers today and I was really hoping for a rainbow. The rainbow never showed, but I got some even better pictures because of it. Since the rain had filled our pool to the brim, we needed to empty some water out… The water we were emptying was running down the sidewalk. Austin looked out the window and little Bella our one year-old neighbor was having an absolute blast running in the water that had been draining from our pool. She was giggling the entire time which of course was making me laugh too. So, there was no rainbow today, but definitely some little kid sunshine!

Malyna’s B-day

Well, last week we celebrated Malyna’s birthday at good ol Adelphias, and I have to admit that Austin and I had as much fun as the birthday girl. Since I’m not the kind of person that lugs my big camera out on the town, I grabbed a few wild and crazy pics of us with my little point and shoot. And, I just got a txt asking if we want to make a repeat appearance tomorrow night….
Please take note of the progression of the evening… everyone looking calm and collective.. The birthday girl is wearing the pink top

And then we move to the dance floor
Where things got a little crazy…

The inevitable… late night self portrait
